The launched young genius was completely dodged the police and FBI cyber investigation, but in 2013, an analog investigator who could not use a personal computer was hunted down.

Movie "Silk Road.COM -the largest dark site in history- is a cyber dark suspense born from this true story.

Nick Robinson of "Jurassic World" who launched "Silk Road" was played by Nick Robinson of "Jurassic World" and Jason Clark of "Terminator: New Start / Genisis" is played by Analog Investigator Rick Boden.increase.

We talked to Director Taylor Russell, who was also in charge of the script.

Director Tiller Russellインタビュー

――The director has been pursuing various crimes as a crime reporter, but why did he take up the dark site “Silk Road”?

When a crime occurs, the police pursue criminals. Will the criminal be caught and judged by the law?Or can you run away?I like crimes that are clearly expanded up to the landing point and are beautiful.

I learned about the dark site "Silk Road" after reading a newspaper article that wrote that Los Wolblicht was arrested.

Ross was a person with a delicious profitable story and a grand dream, but it overlapped with me.In fact, I had a light crime. However, he was arrested before important, so he did not go deeper.

What was the difference between me and Los Angeles? What happened to Ross may have happened to me.Moreover, there is a common background that I and Ross lived in Texas, so I can understand the feeling of adolescence.I still clearly remember what I thought would be a good material for the movie.

What kind of person is Loss and what kind of "Silk Road" is?I checked information related to "Silk Road", such as news materials and all court materials, so I started drawing my own story.

―― Did you ever be conscious of writing a script?

I work on fiction and non -fiction, but I try to draw from the parties' perspective no matter what the story. This time, there was something that sympathized with the two protagonists, Ross and Rick, and were shaken emotionally.

I couldn't meet Ross directly, but I wrote with the feeling that he would take advantage of the background that overlapped with Ross and approach his spirituality from the perspective as much as possible.

――You met the person himself and did not hear the story directly.

When the project began, Ross was prosecuted, but the ruling was not down.He wrote a letter to Ross and tried to tell him, "I want to see you," but his lawyer was alert and did not come true.

So I read and read as much material I can get, but especially helpful was the contents of the diary and chat logs seized from his laptop after the arrest of the FBI, "Dread Pirates Robert".It is his Internet history, such as posting his name.

In addition, the woman who was associated with Ross participated as a consultant, and took a lot of time to ask, "What kind of person he was."

This time it is a fiction movie, but I do the same method as when shooting a documentary work. Then, the monologue of the hero took the wording from the diary of Ross.So his voice is reflected.

I'm still writing a letter in Los Angeles. If a chance comes, I want to meet him and talk.I would like to hear my impressions of how much this movie can be drawn.

――How about the balance between facts and entertainment?

I wrote the parts that I just didn't understand, but this time I drew the facts as much as possible. However, I want the audience to sympathize with the characters and share them, even though they are faithful to the facts.A very difficult sense of balance, such as walking on a stretched rope, was required.

But "the truth is strange than a novel."I think it was a surprising development.

――Max, a best friend, said, "Making money is important for money is important," Ross said, "People are looking for anonymity. What do you think about this?

SNS is a platform that everyone can send to the world, but can also maximize the power of anonymity. It is also a place where everyone can pretend to be a different personality and take action and fulfill some wishes without any sacrifice.Ross realized that we could monetize our hidden desires.I think the double sides of the Internet are very interesting.

――The director is familiar with the genre of crime, but is the crime in the United States changing compared to the past?

In the United States, there are Billy the Kid in the old days and a Godfather, but for a long time it has been romantic to criminals and an outlaws, and have been fascinated as a hero. The method of crime, the sense of scale, and the amount of money are changing throughout the times, but I think it is universal to regard the villain as an attractive person.

――What did the director want to convey through this work?

Not only in this work, but also in common with the work that I work on, it is not going to judge the characters.Of course, it does not allow crimes such as drug trading and murder.

However, instead of imposing the conclusion that he thinks this, the audience will relive what the two protagonists who live in an imminent situation have experienced, and everyone derives their conclusions.I hope you can.

――What kind of incident will you handle next?

I'm working on some criminal things, but I want to make the next stage feel a little more light. Finally, I want to spin a story that I can have.
