If you link your PlayStation Network and Spotify account on PS5, you can also play it as in-game BGM. As long as you don't stop playing the song, you can continue to listen to it.

Log in with your smartphone and play the song. Tap the Spotify Connect icon Tap PS5. If it doesn't appear, check if you're connected to the same Wi-Fi. Select PS5 on your smartphone's Spotify Connect, and the song will start playing from PS5, switching to this screen. If you want to allow the link, select [AGREE]. You can also control playback and adjust the volume balance from the control center displayed by pressing the PS button on the controller. However, it's easier to control song skipping and playlist selection from your smartphone using Spotify Connect.

If you press the PS button on the controller during gameplay, the control center will be displayed and the song being played will be displayed. If you select it further, you can control the playback.
