Retro games of memories that we loved
A series of nostalgic advertisements and game screens at the time, a serial corner that is immersed in the history and nostalgia of domestic PCs.This time, the Normandy landing operation, the early software of the honorable microcomputer system that Shibusawa Kou worked on himself.
In the early 1980s, domestic microcomputer and computer games were mainly action, shooting, simulation, and tables. In such an era, the honored microcomputer system (now Koei Tecmo Games) will release full -scale simulation games such as "Simulation War Game Kawanakajima Battle", but this time it was released at the same time.It will be "Normandy landing operation" featured. The price was 3,500 yen at the beginning of the release, but it was later revised to 4,500 yen.The game starts in the following situations:
In 1944, the German troops, who were pushed on the North African front and the Italian front, tried to desperate counterattacks as the Allies under the command of General Eisen Hower began landing in the France and Normandy districts, and once again pushed the Allies to Dunkirk.I came out. However, the Allies, which are dominant in both the personnel and quantity, will start a major advance in Paris to release Paris when the air control is left in.The player, the commander of the German Army, was ordered by Hitler to protect Paris directly. The period is one month. In the meantime, he plans to suspend the Soviet Union and turn the eastern Army, which is nailed to Stalingrad, to West Europe.Overcoming the lack of personnel, lack of supply, and morals of each division leader, and confront the Eisen Hower!
In this work, during World War II, the status of the Normandy landing operation, which is the largest in history, is reproduced at the start of the game, and the development ahead is left to the player. It was a work planned and programmed by Shibusawa Kou, and at that time it was a full -fledged simulation game. The player issues orders such as attack / movement / replenishment in 20 divisions, and will be able to hold for one month or win if the total power of the German Allied Allies is less than 20 %, but the divisions in Paris will be destroyed. If the Allied and German troops of the Allied German troops fall less than 20 %, they will be defeated and the game is over.
The operation method was very simple and only entered seven commands. The order comes around each division, so if you repeat it 20 times and command all divisions, one day has passed.I will enter the command from the next day and I will think to meet the victory conditions, but if you are unlucky, one or two divisions may be annihilated on the first day, so it is quite easy for beginners of simulation games.I felt it might be a difficult game.
In addition, the Normandy district, which was the stage of this work, was vast, so it is difficult to grasp the unit only by the part displayed on the monitor. Therefore, the board was sold separately along with this work. The board is made of cardboard, and the terrain at the time of Normandy is printed. With this, we prepared and left the frames of the Allies and German forces, and while playing games on a computer, we were able to play the strategy while checking the location of the unit on the board. It can be purchased at a microcomputer shop or an honorable microcomputer system nationwide, and the price at that time was 1,200 yen.The shipping fee is 300 yen.
When I interviewed Mr. Shibusawa Kou, he was able to press the package and cassette tape rubber stamps alone and fold the manual Kent paper.understood.Of course, the software used this time is also handmade by Shibusawa Kou.Many of the titles released around here seemed to have helped me to pack boxes with the help of those who lived close to the building that was working at the time.
