Effective technique to prevent excess charges! Data communication saving settings [iPhone version] | “Overseas mobile phone situation” taught by a Canadian mobile phone shop [Part 5]
Have you ever looked at your bill and felt, "I don't remember using this much, but the amount of data has exceeded!"? You may be able to save data in your phone's settings. This time, we will introduce typical settings, so let's check the smartphone now.
1. Turn off Wi-Fi Assist! (Settings → Mobile communication → Wi-Fi assist OFF)
First, the Wi-Fi assist function is absolutely necessary. This will automatically use your mobile data to keep you connected when your Wi-Fi connection is poor. When you're at home, you're safe because you're using your home Wi-Fi. In particular, this is the first setting to check when purchasing a new model or changing models.
2. Automatic update of each application to Wi-Fi only! (Settings → Mobile communication → Mobile data communication → Turn off each app)
Data communication may be used to update each app from the Apple Store. Check the apps one by one, turn off the mobile data communication, and set it so that it will be updated only in the Wi-Fi environment. We recommend turning them all off, but we recommend turning on "Find My iPhone" and "Compass" because they're necessary in an emergency or to improve the accuracy of the map.
3. Background app refresh (Settings → General → App background refresh → Turn off each app)
Some apps are updated even if they are not open I have. Data communication will be used without knowing it, so let's turn off unnecessary things.
The performance of smartphones is improving year by year, but along with that, the number of functions that require data communication has also increased. What I introduced this time is a representative part, but there are other tricks to save from the details of the setting. I didn't make any special settings after purchase! If so, why not take this opportunity to review your settings?
