Erase the bad image that appeared on the start screen of Windows 8.1!
Start screen of "Modern UI" adopted since Windows 8. The tiles lined up on one side can be used not only to launch apps, but also to display the latest information.
However, that convenience has become a bad thing, and every time you use Windows, the tile display changes, making it difficult to find the desired application, or displaying images you don't want to see. This time, I would like to explain how to reset the display of tiles and return them to their initial state.
Reset thumbnails of "Photo" tiles
The live display of photo tiles is somewhat troublesome. If it's an image in something like a "Pictures" folder, it will show up randomly, even if it's private.
Tiles in the Photos app display randomly selected images from the "Pictures folder"
You can right-click and select "Turn off live tiles" to hide it, but if you want to change it to a different image, try the following method.
If the files in the folder are not updated, the thumbnail display may not change. The best way to forcefully reset the display of such tiles is to erase the substance of the thumbnail.
To delete the actual thumbnail, enter "%userprofile%\AppData\Local\Packages\FileManager_cw5n1h2txyewy\LocalState" in the address field of Explorer. This will take you to the location where the tile images are stored, so you can delete the files you don't want to see.
To delete the actual thumbnail, enter the above address in the explorer address field. Delete files you don't want to see
Return to the start screen and right-click the tile (thumbnail) you do not want to display. Change to any size with "Change size"
Thumbnails will disappear and other files will be displayed at next startup
